Agents Advisory Council - To let the SCHBSIF hear your needs and be responsive to them. This gives our membership a true voice in the program.
Quarterly Publication - To keep our members aware of insurance industry trends, legislative issues that affect your workers’ compensation costs, suggestions on how to become proactive in safety, and better understand and manage accidents after they occur. Our newsletter will be published in 4 of the 6 annual issues of Builder Journal Magazine.
Safety & Risk Control/Claims Management Seminars - These informative and proactive seminars are held at different locations throughout the state. They will provide training in the “Focus Four” hazards as they apply to residential construction which include falls, electrical hazards, struck-by hazards, and caught-in hazards. In addition, information on the claims process and ways you can manage claims as a member are discussed. Beginning in 2008, five of these seminars will provide the Safety and Risk Control portion of the information in Spanish. The date and times of these seminars can be located on the website under Safety and Risk Control and Calendar of Events.
In-House Claims Department - All members are assigned a dedicated Claims Adjuster when they report a loss. This Adjuster will be your single call service source who is familiar with your business.
Dedicated Customer Service Representatives - Again, each member is assigned a dedicated Customer Service Representative or “CSR” to learn your particular business and to assist you personally with all questions and concerns.
Safety and Risk Control Specialists - The SCHBSIF has three full-time Safety and Risk Control Specialists traveling the state to assist our members with safety issues on their job sites. They will offer advice and provide a written copy of their observations to the responsible member.
Local HBA Involvement from the SCHBSIF Staff - The SCHBSIF was designed to provide a quality Workers’ Compensation Insurance Plan to qualified members of the HBA of SC. The entire staff at the SCHBSIF is dedicated to this and will be a visible entity at both local and State HBA functions. It is the intent of the SCHBSIF to become the insurer of choice for the home building industry. We are willing to work hard to earn your business, and we are committed to working even harder to ensure that our members are satisfied. A satisfied member is, by far, our greatest asset.
